This publication is intended to explore and document the creative experiences and the spiritual world of illustrator/designer/self-publisher Vanilla Chi. From her personal work and understanding of art, to her work experience as a self-publisher, as well as her views based on the recent turmoil of the magazine she publishes, we can understand her career life as a new generation artist from three perspectives. At the same time, as a self-publisher working in a particular cultural environment, which is China, we can use her as an individual repre- sentative to dissect a specific aspect of the current state of the industry in the country.
